Levels, badges, and streaks — how the leaderboard actually works
Every student in your workspace has a level, a streak, and a wall of unlockable badges. None of it is fluff — the points come from the work they do, the level shows them how far they've come, and the badges name the milestones they've already hit.

What earns points
Two halves: graded work + engagement. Both feed the same total.
- Attended a live class — 10 pts.
- Took a quiz — 5 pts. Passed it — another 15.
- Submitted an assignment — 15 pts. Scored 80%+ on it — another 10.
- Finished a lesson — 2 pts. Finished a whole course — 50.
- Welcome bonus — 50 pts, once, on the day they sign up.
- Profile complete (avatar + phone) — 20 pts.
- Joined a community — 15 pts each, up to however many they join.
- Asked a doubt — 5 pts each.
- Posted on the Wall of Love — 10 pts.
- Daily activity — 1 pt per day, capped at 30. Encourages showing up without rewarding farming.
Levels
Seven levels, point-based, named so they map onto a learning arc rather than a gaming ladder. The bar on the student's home page shows their XP-to-next-level so the climb feels concrete.
- 🌱 Newcomer — 0 to 99
- 📘 Learner — 100 to 249
- 🎓 Scholar — 250 to 499
- 🏅 Achiever — 500 to 999
- ⚡ Expert — 1,000 to 1,999
- 🌟 Master — 2,000 to 4,999
- 👑 Legend — 5,000+
Badges
Sixteen achievement badges live on every student's leaderboard page — earned ones light up in amber, locked ones stay greyed with their unlock condition in the hover tooltip. They're all derived from existing stats, so no extra setup on your side.

Streaks
A streak is the number of consecutive recent days a student has done anything — attended a class, taken a quiz, submitted an assignment, asked a doubt, or opened a lesson. The streak chip (🔥 N-day streak) shows up on their leaderboard card once it hits 2.
We walk backwards from today through their activity timestamps; the moment a day is missing we stop counting. Caps at 90 days.
Why everyone starts non-zero
Old behaviour: a brand-new workspace with no quizzes / classes had an empty leaderboard for weeks. The welcome bonus + engagement points fix that — on day one, every student appears with at least 50 pts, and joining a community or asking a doubt bumps them up before they ever take a quiz. Movement on the board reflects engagement, not just graded artefacts.
