Set a course's level, category & subject tags
The 'Beginner' and 'Mathematics – Primary' chips aren't decoration — they drive catalog filters, search, and what a learner sees before they buy. Here's how to set them well.

Level
At /dashboard/courses/<id>/settings/level, pick Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced. It sets expectations and feeds the catalog's level filter.
Category
At /dashboard/courses/<id>/settings/category, choose the category/subject (e.g. 'Mathematics – Primary'). This is the primary way learners filter your storefront.
Tags
At /dashboard/courses/<id>/settings/tags, add free-form tags (topics, exam boards, keywords). Tags widen searchability without cluttering the main category.
Good classification means more sales. A course tagged with the exam, the grade, and the topic shows up in far more learner searches than an untagged one.
Tips
- One category, several tags — don't try to make the category do everything.
- Match the words learners actually search ('CBSE Class 5', not 'foundational numeracy').
- Level honestly — a mismatched level is a top cause of refunds and bad reviews.
