Announce to your students: headline, message & channels
The Announce button opens one composer — 'Announce to your students' — that reaches everyone enrolled across up to four channels at once: in-app, email, WhatsApp, and your community.

Click Announce on a course to open the dialog. A banner shows the course title and how many students are enrolled, so you know exactly who you're about to reach. This targets enrolled students — not prospects.
Write it
- Headline — a short subject line (up to 120 characters), e.g. 'New module just dropped'.
- Message — the body in plain text. Empty lines become paragraphs; the community post and email versions are auto-formatted from this one message, so you write it once.
Pick your channels
- In-app notification (on by default) — bell + inbox; students see it next time they open the dashboard.
- Email (on by default) — hits the inbox of every student with an email on file.
- WhatsApp (off by default) — the loudest channel; use sparingly. Only reaches students with a phone number and opt-in.
- Pin to community (on when the course has a linked community) — posts to the General space and pins it for 24 hours so it stays visible.
The send button reads 'Send to <N>' so you always know the audience size. It's disabled until you've written a headline + message and picked at least one channel.
WhatsApp is the loudest channel — students feel a phone buzz. Reserve it for genuinely important, time-sensitive news (a live class starting, a deadline) so people don't mute you.
Announce is not a payment link. Announce talks to people who already paid; a payment link is for getting people to pay. Don't push a 'buy now' to students who already own the course.
No community linked yet? The 'Pin to community' option is disabled with a note — link a community on the course to give announcements a permanent home.
